Meet the Department Heads

Katies Pic (1)Administrator – Katie Novotny

Administrator of Haven Homes: Katie began working at Haven Homes in January of 2019.  She has been with Cassia since 2010 and transitioned to Haven Homes from our Buffalo nursing facility.  Katie obtained her Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Minnesota and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, their two boys, chickens and two dogs!  Katie feels that Haven Homes is an “amazing place with caring staff and wonderful residents.  When you are here you feel as though everyone is a part of your family and you are home!“ Katie can be contacted by email at [email protected]

Heidis PicDirector of Nursing – Heidi LaFave

Heidi started her health career as a Nursing Assistant at the age of 15 with an Elim facility. She continued her education by obtaining her LPN and RN from Ridgewater College. Heidi started at Haven Homes in March of 2015 as a night shift nurse and became the Director of Nursing in July 2016.  Heidi believes that developing meaningful relationships with the residents and their families builds trust and provides comfort.  In her free time she can be found spending time enjoying time with her family.  Heidi can be contacted by email at [email protected]

LeDoux Carley - Director of Social ServicesDirector of Social Services – Carley LeDoux

Carley began working at Haven Homes in July 2018. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work at Minnesota State University, Mankato.  Carley said she feels, “blessed to be a part of Haven Homes team because every resident and family member is valued and treated with person centered care.” In her free time Carley enjoys going to the lake and spending time with family and friends. Kilpatrick Monica RNNurse Manager – Monica Kilpatrick

Monica started at Haven Homes in January of 2017 as a Nursing Assistant. She continued her education at Rasmussen College for two years and gradated as an RN July 2017. Monica was able to become a Nurse Manager at Haven Homes in June 2018. She enjoys working with our team and states “everyone works really great together here.” Her favorite part about working at Haven Homes is being able to get to know our residents. Nurse Manager – Melissa Ellis

Melissa began working at Haven Homes in June 2016. She has received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Hamlin University as well as her RN Associates degree from Rasmussen College. When Melissa was asked why she loves working at Haven Homes she said, “ I love working here because of the small community feel and ability to know all of the residents, families and co-workers I get to interact with on a daily basis.” [email protected]

KatelynQuality of Living Specialist – Katelyn Roiland

Katelyn began working at Haven Homes in April of 2016. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family with a Minor in Disability Services and a  Specialization in Gerontology. Katelyn says, “Since high school, I’ve felt that it’s my calling to serve the aging population, and I’m very passionate about it.” Katelyn is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve our residents as our Quality in Living Specialist for ResoLute, a grant geared towards improving the aging process. Nurse Manager/MDS Coordinator – Harmony Lipelt

Harmony began working at Haven Homes in April of 2017. She has been working in long term care for 20 years, it all began at Elim in Buffalo working as a CNA at Park View Care Center. She obtained her LPN in 2003 from Riverland Community College in Austin, MN and her RN in 2011 from Ridgewater Community College in Willmar, MN. Haven Homes is her 4th SNF that she has for and she feels as if she has found  her home in the staff and residents she cares for. PeterChaplain – Peter Johannsen

Peter began his chaplaincy ministry at Haven Homes and Bryant House in March of this year!  He also serves as chaplain at Elim Shores in Eden Prairie.  For the past 17 years, Peter was the Lead Pastor at Delano Evangelical Free Church.  He is energized as he serves as a friend and Pastor at the two Cassia locations.  Peter enjoys reading mysteries and taking “road-trips” with his wife and best friend, Vicki. Jordans PictureTherapeutic Recreation Director & Volunteer Coordinator – Jordan Schilling

Jordan started working at Haven Homes in December of 2017. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Leisure, Planning and Management at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Creating fun, meaningful activities and events for seniors to improve their quality of life has always been her passion. Jordan lives by the quote, “Of all the things you wear, your smile is most important” and loves to spread smiles through Haven Homes every day. When she’s not at work you’ll find her playing with her dog Stella, spending time with friends and family, playing sand volleyball and riding horses or barrel racing! Housekeeping Supervisor – Natalie Terwey

Natalie Terwey: Natalie Terwey has been the Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor since 2015.  She has been named the Safety Committee Chair as of March 2019 and has dedicated a lot of work to improving the safety for our employees and residents.  Natalie enjoys the environment at Haven Homes, loves being able to help others and make a difference in the lives of people around her.  Natalie can be contacted by email at [email protected]


Environmental Supervisor – Scott Gosewisch

Scott has been an employee at Haven Homes for many years. He started working here in 1979 in the Activity Department, from there he moved into the Maintenance Department in 1980. Cindy started working at Elim Care in 2018 for the Watertown location. She transferred to Haven Homes in 2017. Cindy’s favorite part of her job is forming relationships with residents, their families and staff.
